CTU — Carton Transfer Unit

Combine multi-tote picking and transport capacity in a single robot.

With its vertical storage module and automated loading mechanism, CTU handles multiple totes within a single mission to increase picking density and throughput.

Explore
/ WHY CTU?

Turn walking-based picking between racks into a dense, verifiable flow where the tote comes to the operator.

01

Walking time

Most of the picking time should not be spent walking between racks.

02

Storage density

Vertical space should not stay unused for the sake of aisle width.

03

Picking accuracy

The system must verify that the right tote reaches the right station.

/ ON SITE

From rack level to the station,
the robot brings the tote.

CTU picks the target tote from its rack location, buffers it in the onboard vertical storage module and carries several totes to the picking station in a single run.

  • Super-high pickupWith the extended mast option, totes are picked from rack levels up to four metres.
  • Double-telescopic pickupThe telescopic pickup reaches the tote in two stages in deep storage layouts.
  • Flexible cargo selectionTote sizes from 200 mm up to 800 mm are handled by the same robot.
  • Cargo inspectionTote presence and position are verified on board during pick-up and drop-off.

/ APPLICATION SCENARIOS

Material flows where
CTU stands out.

01

Multi-tote picking

Carrying five to seven totes per mission reduces the number of runs per station.

02

Goods-to-person picking

Operators no longer search the racks; the target tote arrives at the station in the right sequence.

03

High-density storage

Narrow aisles and tall racking increase stock density per square metre.

04

Order consolidation

Totes collected from different zones are combined in one run and handed to packing.

/ PROJECT APPROACH

Know the load, model the flow,
validate on site.

  1. DiscoveryTote profile, rack geometry, routes and cycle targets are measured.
  2. DesignModel selection, fleet size, station and integration architecture are defined.
  3. CommissioningScenarios are tested with real loads and the team is trained.
